Pointwest Building will be the new landmark of the UP-Ayala Land Technohub starting August 6, 2013, as the noted technopark’s Building Alpha gets rechristened after its most prominent tenant, Pointwest Technologies Corporation.Â
Pointwest is the country’s top fully Filipino-owned IT-BPO company. Among its clients are members of the Fortune 500 as well as leading local companies. Pointwest has over a thousand employees housed in its main office in Makati, branches in the United States and its Delivery Center at the UP-Ayala Land Technohub.
On October 2008, Pointwest became the third company to set up shop at the UP-Ayala Land Technohub. Today, Pointwest occupies all of the 3rd and 4th floors of Alpha Building. Â Aside from housing the bulk of Pointwest’s staff, the company’s Technohub office also has a clinic, large pantries in each floor, and conference rooms with teleconference capabilities.
In a nod to innovative workplace designs used by Silicon Valley companies, Pointwest’s Technohub office features open spaces that can be used for anything from small meetings to town hall gatherings or after-office recreation activities.
The renaming of the Technohub’s Building Alpha into the Pointwest Building comes as Pointwest celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. The company was founded in January 2003.Â
Among Pointwest’s achievements in 2013 was getting twin appraisals for CMMI Maturity Level 3 in CMMI-Development v1.3 and CMMI-Services v1.3. Â Pointwest is the first company in Southeast Asia to achieve this. It is also only the 3rd throughout Asia and 29th worldwide.
Pointwest was also one of the finalists for IT-BPO Company of the Year in the 7th International ICT Awards. Â The company took the Best Mid-Sized Locally-Owned BPO Company award back in 2008. Pointwest also received the Technology Leadership Team award in 2012 during the Asia CEO Awards of that year. [end]
