Pointwest goes full-on with its support to 2016’s Philippine Software Industry Conference, or Softcon, with two speakers, a sponsor’s booth, and the official mobile app for the event on Wednesday, 19 October 2016, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom.
Headlining the participation of one of the leading Philippine IT-BPM companies is a talk on Analytics for Banking by Pointwest Chief Technical Officer, Veck Basinang. The other talk will be on how Automation can help even non-technical test engineers by returning speaker, Kim Deloria.
Ms. Basinang’s talk looks into how the banking industry is being disrupted by the latest techniques and technologies in the rapidly-growing and in-demand field of Data Analytics. She will take off from the premise that Data Analytics is transforming banking to a point where better decisions and lower risks can be the norm.
“What you see is that almost every single major decision to drive revenue, to control costs, or to mitigate risks can be infused with Data and Analytics.”Veck Basinang, Chief Technology Officer, Pointwest
Meanwhile, Mr. Deloria’s talk will focus on how a test automation framework helped a team handle a regression testing task assigned to them. He will discuss in detail how a non-technical team with very little experience in coding managed to do their work with the help of an intuitive and easy-to-follow automation framework.
Aside from the two speakers, Pointwest is once again the official mobile app partner for Softcon. The company’s homegrown EESY will, for the fourth straight year, allow delegates to easily monitor conference proceedings, review the breakout session schedules, and get reminders for when their breakout sessions are about to begin.
Pointwest will also have a booth onsite, at the left of the plenary hall itself. Representatives of the company will be on hand to answer questions on the latest products and digital services of the Hall of Fame inductee for Best Filipino Owned Company of the Year of the 2016 ICT Awards Philippines.
Pointwest has participated in the Softcon since the very first one four years ago, sending not only its top officers to attend but also providing its technical capabilities to help make the event successful.
