In what’s turning out to be a busy week of conferences for Pointwest, the largest Filipino-owned IT-BPM service provider is set to discuss important developments in the areas of digital transformation and cybersecurity in two separate conferences in the Philippines on the fourth week of May 2017.

On May 24-25, Pointwest will participate in the 2017 Digital Transformation Summit at the SMX Convention Center in SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City. The event, organized by Enderun Extension and the Global Chamber Manila, will tackle how the rapid pace of development in the digital space impacts businesses. Key strategies for digital transformation will also be presented and discussed by technology leaders from various sectors.

Pointwest CTO Veck Basinang will be part of a panel on “Building a Digital-Savvy Workforce to Stay Competitive”, while Pointwest Labs and Digital Capability head Sherwin Pelayo will be part of a panel that discusses what transpired in the recent APEC Project DARE in Singapore as well as the emergence of a new Analytics association in the Philippines.

“Analytics roles are defined by a set of core competencies,” Pelayo said. “North America and Europe have established theirs. In the APEC countries, we have created ours by getting the best from both worlds.”

“Now, we are eager to launch this in the Philippines to enable our workforce and secure the jobs of tomorrow.” Sherwin Pelayo, Pointwest Labs and Digital Capability Head

Meanwhile, another contingent is representing Pointwest to the 2017 ISACA Manila IT Governance Conference on May 25 at the Dusit Thani Makati. Organized by the Manila Chapter of international IT governance organization ISACA, the conference looks at the role IT governance plays in making businesses appreciate the value of technology through innovation.

Rene Canlas, Pointwest’s Chief Information Security Officer, will talk about finding the right balance between Compliance and Innovation through Blockchain GRC in one of the afternoon tracks.

Both conferences will make use of EESY, Pointwest’s events engagement mobile app. Through EESY, participants to the Digital Transformation Summit and IT Governance Conference can monitor the many activities of their respective events, especially for the segments at which they wish to participate. They can also easily pose questions to speakers through the app. EESY also has in-built scanners for barcodes and QR codes for organizers and exhibitors who wish to use such technologies for promos and networking.

The conferences come at the heels of two other such events abroad that Pointwest will also participate in that week: CeBIT Australia 2017 in Sydney, Australia, and CommunicAsia 2017 in Singapore, both happening on May 23 – 25. The company also led a large delegation to Japan for SODEC 2017 on May 9-13, 2017.
