Manila, Philippines — In its quest to forge a stronger, more strategic partnership with Malaysia, Pointwest invited Malaysian business leaders to its delivery center for a ‘technology sharing’ session and site tour.
The visiting business executives were part of the Malaysian Trade Specialized Marketing Mission on Information & Communication Technology (ICT), a business matching activity organized by the Embassy of Malaysia-Trade Office.

Held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the event introduced Malaysian companies to key industry players in the Philippines and kicked off discussions on ICT trade, joint ventures, subcontracting, and investment. Pointwest attended the trade mission with other members of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA).
After the event, several Malaysian business leaders proceeded to Pointwest’s delivery center in UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub in Quezon City for industry and corporate briefings. Rene Canlas, Pointwest’s Microsoft Practice Manager, also discussed the company’s services and key technologies.
Smaller discussions broke out during the site tour, with both Philippine and Malaysian representatives sharing best practices, particularly in service delivery.
“We are in awe of the Malaysian ICT framework, especially with how it’s been implemented to aid government service delivery, “ said Beng Coronel, Pointwest President. “With its layers and components, this (framework) is something we hope to emulate.”
