A few days before the annual gathering of healthcare BPO professionals in the country headed by the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), Pointwest is gearing up for the upcoming HIMS Conference 2016 to be held at Makati Shangri-La Philippines, on 15 September 2016.

Convergence. Pointwest Executives to speak at the HIMS Conference 2016. L to R: Mark Zavalla (Product Manager), Beng Coronel (President) and JL Botor (Manager-BPM Practice).
Topbilling Pointwest’s participation in the conference is Ma. Cristina “Beng” Coronel, Pointwest and HIMAP President. In the President’s address, she will share the journey of the Philippine HIM-BPM industry up to its current competitive state.
Aside from the successes and challenges of the Philippine HIM-BPM sector, Coronel will also present the industry’s roadmap for the next six years, aimed at helping ensure that the Philippines remains as the preferred destination by global HIM companies.
Mark Zavalla, Pointwest product manager for Easimed, will also join the event and will be part of the panel on “Health IT Innovations In our Own Backyard.” The segment focuses on the goal of increasing access to higher quality and more affordable healthcare in the Philippines.
Coming from their experiences with using some of the latest innovations and technology, Zavalla will share the story of Easimed, a platform for simplified and connected healthcare. He will also share the impact of the mobile app has had so far, particularly in helping people easily find the nearest healthcare service accredited by their HMO.
Easimed is also one of the sponsor booths at the event. Participants can check out the mobile version of the app at the booth.
JL Botor, Manager for Healthcare BPM Practice, will be the moderator on the panel track. Entitled “The Age of Healthcare Consumerism,” the panel aims to shed light on the impact of different behaviors of consumerism to the HIM-BPM industry, and how this can be leveraged as an emerging business model.
HIMAP will be using EESY (Events Engagement Suite for You), a mobile application for engaging participants during events and conferences developed by Pointwest. EESY was previously used in the 2015 Philippine Software Industry Conference, or Softcon 2015, of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA).
With the theme, “Global Convergence Enabling Inclusive Care and Innovation,” this year’s HIMS conference brings together Philippine healthcare professionals to talk about the latest trends on healthcare system and solutions as well as the convergence of the global market with local services. The conference serves as a venue for industry players, training institutions, vendors, other stakeholders, and the business community to identify key factors and programs that will contribute to positioning the Philippines as the leading destination for quality healthcare information management services.
