MANILA, Philippines — Pointwest, the largest fully Filipino-owned IT services firm in the Philippines, and ABS-CBN, the country’s biggest media conglomerate, have teamed up for the development of a cutting-edge system software.
The companies recently entered into a contract, which formalized their partnership in building a groundbreaking, multi-featured application to address ABS-CBN’s critical system requirements.
The project is set for completion in 2013 and both parties have expressed their desire for future collaboration.
“This is a huge milestone — two companies devoted to the betterment of the Filipino, now working together,” said Pointwest President Ma. Cristina “Beng” Coronel. “Pointwest has made it its mission to create a global IT brand for the Philippines, so to work with ABS-CBN, a company in ‘the service of the Filipino people’, is very exciting for us.”
Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN Chief Information Officer, agreed. “We’ve heard of Pointwest’s expertise and reputation in the IT industry, so we’re looking forward to working with them on this project. We hope this will be the start of a great partnership.”
