IT solutions provider Pointwest showcases its Microsoft capabilities and other technology services at the Microsoft World Partner Conference 2012 in Toronto, Ontario.

Manila, Philippines — Pointwest Technologies, a Microsoft Registered Partner based in the Philippines, reconnects with other Microsoft partners for a five-day trade show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), which runs from July 8 to 12, 2012, is where Microsoft partners learn the latest technologies, business strategies, and programs of the technology giant. More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the event.

A leader in the Philippine Information Technology (IT) industry, Pointwest is slated to exhibit its Microsoft-based services and competencies for the entire length of the conference. It is participating as part of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) delegation.

The company has a solid portfolio in Microsoft technologies, having developed business solutions for local and international banks, telecommunication companies, and pharmaceutical firms. These include real-time messaging applications, mobile banking systems, point-of-sale software, and online investment management platforms.

Keen to boost capabilities in this particular technology domain, Pointwest continues to develop resources within its Microsoft Practice Group — from architects to developers, from methodologies to tools. The group is highly skilled in custom application development, data management, ISV software, and mobility solutions.

“We want to keep building our Microsoft competencies,” says Rene Canlas, the company’s Microsoft Practice Manager. “Our expertise in this technology enables us to deliver innovative solutions crucial to the core operations of our clients.”

Pointwest’s participation in the WPC is part of a solid campaign to expand its markets and at the same time promote the Philippines as a global IT hub. Aggressive marketing efforts of Pointwest and other local IT firms have helped ushered the Philippines back into the limelight. Recent reports have cited the sustained growth of the IT-BPO industry, and the country is now considered a mature location for software services.
