Pointwest Launches Clinical Research Study
March 16, 2016
Clinical Research, one of the relevant branches in the Healthcare industry, determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products, and treatment regimens intended for human use. This may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relieving symptoms of a disease.
Part and parcel of this practice is collecting evidence to establish a treatment.
As Pointwest continues to provide excellent services as an IT-BPM company in the healthcare industry, a Clinical Research team was formed through the collaborative effort of Clinical Specialists (RPhs) and Business Analyst (BAs). The team aims to provide trainings to employees in preparation for a prospective Clinical Research Organization (CRO) client under the Healthcare division.
The team was formed on March 28, 2016 headed by Senior Clinical Specialists with the training core group composed of a lead Business Analyst (BA) and four (4) Registered Pharmacist (RPhs) leads. The resources are tasked to conduct a study on the current trends in clinical research along with creating and developing training materials.
The BA coordinates with the team on the research and development of training materials while the Clinical Specialists focus on studying and familiarizing the tasks and workflow.
DAY 1: Module 1 – Clinical Refresher Course
Module 2 – Introduction to Clinical Research
DAY 2: Module 3 – Overview of GCP (Good Clinical Practice)
Module 4 – MedDra Coding (Medical Coding Method or Medical Data Dictionary)
The training is set to be rolled out end of June 2016 with the primary objective of providing resources with an understanding of latest Clinical Research Principles and Practices.
