Pointwest Technologies Corporation, the top 100% Filipino-owned IT-BPO company in the Philippines, was one of the finalists for the IT-BPO Company of the Year plum of the 7th International ICT Awards held last March 14 at the Shangri-La Makati.

Among those who shared the nomination with Pointwest were Convergys Philippines, Dell Philippines and Teleperformance Philippines.

Organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the International ICT Awards gives out some of the most coveted accolades in the Philippine IT-BPO industry. Pointwest was recognized by the International ICT Awards as the Best Mid-Sized Locally-Owned BPO Company back in 2008.

The nomination comes in the wake of several significant milestones and achievements by Pointwest in 2013. The company recently achieved dual appraisals for CMMI Maturity Level 3 for both CMMI-Development v1.3 and CMMI-Services v1.3.

Pointwest also celebrated its 10th year anniversary last January 16 and 17 (the company was founded on January 7, 2003). From a small firm with the courage to dream big, Pointwest a decade later boasts a headcount of over a thousand strong and serves some of the top companies both in the Philippines and outside of it, including those in the Fortune 500.

“Getting shortlisted for IT-BPO Company of the Year is quite the honor, especially when you have some of the industry’s heavyweights nominated alongside Pointwest,” Ma. Cristina G. Coronel, President of Pointwest, said. “This nomination recognizes the service excellence and innovation that has been the hallmark of Pointwest for the last ten years.” [end]
