Preparations at Pointwest for the 2017 National Olympiads for Informatics (NOI) continue apace as the date for the contest approaches following a meeting between the IT-BPM company and NOI.PH to hash out details.
Pointwest Labs Head Sherwin Pelayo met with Mr. Payton Yao, Ms. Ton Rivera, and Mr. Tim Dumol of NOI.PH on 28 December 2016 to discuss the preparations for the finals scheduled on 18 – 19 February 2017 at the Pointwest Building in UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub. Mr. Pelayo was also joined by Infrastructure Head Bong Camba and Cyber Security Head Rene Canlas in this meeting.
Previously (Read: Pointwest Offers Support for IOI Delegations in 2017), leaders of Pointwest met with representatives of NOI to discuss support for the Philippine delegation to the International Olympiad for Informatics this coming July 2017 at Tehran, Iran. Pointwest President, Ms. Beng Coronel offered to provide the venue and infrastructure needed for the 2017 NOI finals.
To qualify for the 2017 Nationals, NOI asked high school students from all over the Philippines to register for the online eliminations, which will be held from the 13th of January until the 22nd. The top 30 finishers will compete during the National finals, which is a two-day contest to be held at the Pointwest Building.
The top contestants will represent the country and compete against other high school students from all over the world at the IOI 2017.
