Pointwest Technologies Corporation, one of the leading fully Filipino-owned IT-BPM firms, is a finalist for two categories in the upcoming 2015 Asia CEO Awards.
Through emails from the organizers and official releases of the list of finalists, Pointwest was informed of its status for the categories of KPMG Executive Leadership Team of the Year and TCS ASEAN Company of the Year. Winners of each category will be announced during the Gala Night on November 11, at the Marriott Hotel Manila’s Grand Ballroom.
“It’s an honor for Pointwest to be recognized as a finalist in not one but two categories in the Asia CEO Awards,” Ma. Cristina “Beng” Coronel, Pointwest President, said. “With the large number of applicants this year, to be a finalist is high praise, indeed.”
In its pitch for the Executive Leadership Team of the Year award, Pointwest pointed to its significant expansion during 2014 and through 2015, as well as its numerous awards and recognition garnered during the same period.
Aside from founding Pointwest Global, LLC to spearhead its international expansion, Pointwest also showcased its new Delivery Center at the Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas. The new workspace particularly supports Pointwest’s drive to strengthen its Digital capabilities. Among others, Pointwest’s Rockwell office will house its multi-awarded Mobile Team and the young-but-promising Data Science Group, which recently placed an upper-6% finish in a Kaggle Competition.
With a positive year-on-year financial trend leading into the 2nd Half of 2015 and a growing client list that includes top Fortune 100 companies, Pointwest’s Senior Leadership Team has been the guiding hand in seeing to it that the company and Filipino talent get recognized globally for world-class IT and BPM services.
For the ASEAN Company of the Year category, Pointwest relied on its regional recognition and its position as an ASEAN company that is known outside of the region as a vendor-of-choice even among some of the West’s top businesses.
Pointwest was the winner of the Innovation Award in the first ever ASEAN Business Awards Philippines in 2014. With the rest of the Philippine winners, the company represented the country in the regional leg of the awards in Myanmar last November. Pointwest managed to place as First Runner Up in the Most Admired Enterprise for Innovation.
The company, through its mobile app, Arko, was also one of the finalists for the ASEAN ICT Awards. An executive team made a pitch to ASEAN telecommunications ministers last September in Vietnam in its bid to have Arko named as the winner in the CSR Category. The grand champion will be named this coming November.
“We have long wanted to expand in ASEAN,” Rene Quizon, Executive Director for Business Development, said.
“But we realized during the regional leg of the ASEAN Business Awards in 2014, and in the face of ASEAN Integration, that now is the best time to put down stronger roots in our home region.”
Quizon said that Pointwest’s strategy will involve partnering with local ICT companies in other ASEAN nations. This will give Pointwest access to the best local talent while sidestepping many localization problems inherent in a foreign business entering a nation for the first time. Pointwest also considers this a unique opportunity to share its global IT and BPM experience with regional IT companies, hopefully to help jumpstart their ability to compete internationally.
Since its founding in 2003, Pointwest has provided world-class IT services to companies, organizations and government agencies both here and abroad. Among its clients are top Fortune 100 companies and notable companies in the Asia Pacific region.
