To help Japanese businesses and other organizations tackle challenges from a rapidly-changing business landscape, Pointwest brings some of the latest digital solutions to the Software Apps and Development Expo (SODEC) on 8-10 May 2019 at Aoimi Hall, Kotu-Ku, Tokyo, Japan.

The Pointwest contingent will be composed of Business Development Manager Jon Alfonso and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) head Emil Cruz, since RPA is the lead digital solution that Pointwest plans to offer to Japanese companies and organizations.

RPA is the technology that can configure and emulate human action within digital systems. RPA’s cost-effective implementation and comprehensive benefits capture many industries’ interest in automating their processes, generating a huge demand in jobs with its extensive applications.

Aside from its proven expertise in the RPA scene, Pointwest is also a partner of three of the biggest names in RPA: Softomotive, UiPath, and BluePrism. Together, Pointwest and its partners hope to offer the Japanese the advantages a digital workforce can bring.

Pointwest also brings its Test Automation solutions to this year’s SODEC. Given the need for businesses to release various applications and systems alongside the demand for them to be secure and reliable, Test Automation is the way to ensure that production schedules are met without sacrificing product quality and reliability.

Test Automation also makes identifying defects easier, faster, and much earlier in the software development process. This results in a more reliable application that does what it was designed to do but lessens the risks and costs that stem from the effects of defects in production.

“The sooner a software defect is caught, the less expensive it gets to fix,” Kim Deloria, Pointwest’s Testing Center of Excellence Head said. “Through Test Automation, testing can be performed early and frequently.”

Other digital services Pointwest brings to this year’s SODEC are Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, User Experience Design and Consulting, and Application Modernization.

Pointwest goes to SODEC as part of the 17th Annual Business Mission to Japan organized by the Philippine Software Information Association (PSIA). Pointwest and eight other IT companies of the Philippines are taking part in this year’s SODEC to promote the Filipino brand of IT with the theme, “Go Global. Go Digital. Co-Create With the Philippines.”
